Finger Licking Good Chinese Barbecue Ribs

Delicious, moreish and without any additives, these finger licking good barbecue ribs taste even better than those you find in your local restaurant or takeaway.

Ingredients

20 - 25 ribs
Large piece of ginger (peeled and diced)
6 - 7 cloves of garlic (peeled and diced)
3 tablespoons hoi sin sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons yellow bean sauce
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce



Method

1. In a dish combine the ribs with all the ingredients and mix thoroughly. Leave the ribs to marinate for 30 minutes in the fridge.

2. Transfer the ribs to a well-oiled baking tray, spreading them out evenly.

3. Preheat the oven (fan-assisted) to 160C and bake for 20 minutes.

4. After 20 minutes remove the ribs and stir. Increase the temperature to 180C and bake for a further 20-25 minutes.

5. Remove the cooked ribs from the tray and set aside. To create the barbecue sauce place the baking tray over a low to medium fire and add 2-3 cups of water, stirring constantly to blend in the flavours.

6. Strain the sauce through a sieve into a sauce pan and add 1-2 tablespoons of cornflour to thicken.

7. Serve the ribs with the sauce and enjoy!
